52 1st, 2nd and 3rd instar caterpillars were found on 3 small butterfly weed plants in a small pollinator garden in a trailer park in Candler , NC. For fear they would all starve, as there was no other milkweed growing in the vicinity, we intervened. We left 3 per plant and relocated the rest to common milkweed at Public monarch Waystation sites in Black Mountain, NC.
