Milkweed (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/01/2023

Number: 1

We have had common and showy milkweed since April. The plants returned and have been growing tall, about 2 feet, and are now budding.

California native A. Fascicularis are finally sprouting.

Sadly, no monarchs, eggs, or caterpillars so far. In years past, we saw some monarchs flying around milkweed in our area as early as March.

Very worrisome!
