Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Both my wife & I saw what we believe to have been a monarch. It flew quickly through our yard before I could chase it with my camera. The only other possibility is that of a Viceroy which is rarely seen in our area. It was definitely not a painted lady or others suggested. I was surprised, to put it mildly, since most of the milkweed in our area are very immature, to the point that I was concerned that there would not be enough for feeding caterpillars arriving from Monarch Watch in early June. I normally would not have reported, but I noted the sighting up by Thief River Falls which influenced the report.
