Nine eggs were spotted on Common milkweed syriaca this evening in the garden.
These nine were found a day after two eggs were brought inside after getting saved from a lawn weed whipping, near this same area.
Eggs were laid singly on small plants or small tip most leaves. One egg was spotted laid on the top surface of a milkweed plant.
Conditions were random breezy wind bursts with sun shower cloud activity, at 83 degrees.
An observation. The eggs are all on milkweed only within a semi circle scent range of a potted blooming jasmine plant, sitting next to a brick chimney. No eggs were found on milkweed plants the same size and condition, anywhere, farther away, where there was no jasmine scent in the air.
Was this due to possible luring effect coming from the jasmine?
