Today I found 29 monarch caterpillars. Most were (first instar) the smallest after hatching. I found one that was on the 3rd instar. I’ve never seen this many this early.I wasn’t expecting to see any today as I was looking for little pebbles for a plant repotting. All were in a very small area next to my house and in the monarch garden that is inches from the house.
