I saw three monarch caterpillars (one pictured here)munching on our butterfly weed (tuberosa) and troubling evidence of milkweed beetles decimating whole stalks of butterfly weed! Luckily our plants are a few years old and can sustain losses. Finally got some rain in the Chicago area for the first time in almost 60 days on another 90 degree day.
