Asclepias exaltata is no longer in bloom. A. purpurascens, A. speciosa, and most A. syriaca, and many A. sullivantii are currently in bloom. Some A. viridis is blooming for a second time. The A. tuberosa have orange flower buds and the A. viridiflora flower buds. The A. hirtella, A. ovaifolia, A. incarnata, and A. verticillata, do not have flower buds yet.

The picture is of roadside A. syriaca in bloom in the ditch in front of our property along IL-111. The seed has been scattered in the ditch starting 3 years ago.
