Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/18/2023

Number: 5

Saw a monarch butterfly flitting over a patch of milkweed (A. syriaca); checked and found at least 5 eggs (1 per plant) at outer edges of patch. Staked the patch so my husband wouldn't mow it with the tractor-mower.

Yesterday, had seen 2 monarchs at a nearby patch of native dwarf white-flowered milkweed (A. ovalifolia). Hopefully, eggs were laid there, too. :)
