We spotted 3 eggs on swamp milkweed and all three were about to hatch, as seen in the picture.
The other 4 eggs were found on showy milkweed and had no black tips. They will not hatch for another day or two.
It made me wonder if there were 2 different females, that each preferred a different type of milkweed, that visited Cedar Ridge’s Waystation on different days.
The monarchs frequent this school Waystation often. Two previous also produced eggs.
