Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 07/03/2023

Number: 29

First monarch showed up just now, 4:30pm. Female, and she did a couple of circuits around the yard, laying on common milkweed. She passed up the swamp and purple milkweed (damaged by aphids) and so far has ignored the orange butterfly weed. All eggs were laid on leaf buds or the underside of leaves near the top of the plant. The plant receiving the most eggs had bloomed but I deadheaded it.
