Finally seeing Ruby throated hummingbird fledglings! :) I observed 2 different ones today. The first was feeding within 2 feet from me from various nectar flowers, including 'Black and Bloom" Salvia and Cuphea vermillionaire. She/he was very comfortable with me and fed for several minutes. I observed another attempting to feed from either flowers or one of the feeders in the bluebird garden; he/she was immediately dive bombed by one of our resident adult males, who then proceeded to go right into his U shaped mating dive/flight. The fledgling was taken by surprise for sure! AWESOME to have baby Rubies- what a delight! :)
