Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)

Date: 07/12/2023

Number: 1

1:37 pm sipping from feeder #3 on the deck. Not 5 minutes before I was under the deck cutting and pulling butterfly bush volunteers. I changed the feeders today and added more than usual. I think some of these hummingbirds may be related to last year's "DIVA". We named her that because she would among other things:

1. Head bob at each of the then 5 feeder places to count them.

2. If one was missing she'd point it out.

3. If they were low she'd point it out.

4. When she got your attention she'd point out the low feeder and fly away to the left sideways always facing you...so you'd get the drift.

It was obvious who her babies were because they'd do the same thing.

I love this stuff.
