I have been seeing adult monarchs daily for the past week, usually 1 or 2 a day but today 5 at the same time (plus 3 or 4 Red Admiral bflies)at 9:30am flitting about & nectaring on Common mw. After about an hour all had left flying sw.
Another in the evening, patrolling male circling flowers & Common mw at back of our house. He or another male returned a second evening remaining for 3 or 4 hrs.
Average daytime temps have been about 25°c. Rain/thunder storms on & off. It has been the coolest wettest July ever. July is normally driest but most uncomfortable humid weather. Not this year.
