Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/09/2023

Number: 6

This is a repeat visit. Nest built in exactly same place as nest from last year. We think these are either fledglings from last year or same parents. Four different attempts at nest building before nest built in location as noted above. Four chicks were hatched and survived . Two adults still resident and enter the same nest (we leave them until all have migrated) and we are observing to see if they are sitting on eggs. We have had about 20 swallows show up in a large group that stayed around our house for a couple of weeks in late June/early July. For the last 2 weeks, we've observed the two mentioned above.
