Larva found in our garden late June. Brought in so the kids could observe and admire it. Just hatched on Monday. She was happily flying in her cage but unfortunately caught the attention of our cat. These netted cages are light and my cat knocked it off the table, resulting in a bent wing. I feel horrible.

Unsure what to do next. It seems that there are many different opinions on what is best. Should I try to repair her wing or leave it be? She can fly but not very well. I have a small pollinator garden with several milkweed that shed be happy in....I'm wondering if i should release her in hopes that a male finds her before she dies. Or should we just keep her in captivity for ourselves? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
