This 5th instar larva is on A. sullivantii (according to Google lens), aka prairie milkweed. Note the leaf stalk has been nearly chewed in two. Sunshine, clear sky, calm, 82 F, 10:50 a.m. No other eggs or larvae were found on this small bunch of milkweed, but there are leaf chew marks on most of the plants in this bunch of about ten.
