Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 07/21/2023

Number: 1

Observed an adult monarch butterfly seen taking nectar from a milkweed blossom there in Tom Thomson Park; at north east corner of park, beside the dirt parking lot. What a joy!

Confirmed monarch as it was observed much larger than the smaller 3/4 sized orange and black butterflies which mimic the monarch but different to the specs of course to the true monarch. Very pleased to have spotted one! Sightings, though for me have been less often past year or so, as not in field on regular basis (privacy, so will not give to details) Grateful for monarchs, their stoic natures!
