Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 07/25/2023

Number: 4

It has been a lean hummingbird summer, so far...is anyone else experiencing fewer hummingbirds. I have seen, since early spring, possibly 2-3 males and 2 females that i recognize by behavior and size and color....the females disappeared EARLY! In mid may!!!they were back in late June and NOW...but i have not seen immature hummingbirds. I do not know. We had several early spring high wind events, and another one a week ago. I know there were sprung wind events and hail in Eastern OK, also. Now for the 2nd time we are looking at temps of 100 degrees for a week or more. I just have not observed any influx of hummingbirds or any immature birds and for the last week of July it is abnormal.
