We watched the female lay eggs in our backyard today. We spotted 1 female ovipositing eggs in the morning on swamp. We watched again in the afternoon as a female laid eggs on the narrow leaf milkweed. (Could be 2 different females or the same one, who knows.)

I counted 6 eggs on swamp milkweed,
9 eggs on showy milkweed,
7 on narrowleaf
and 1 newly hatched caterpillar

So obviously I have had at least 1 monarch today and at least 1 other monarch several days ago.
