Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/13/2023

Number: 1

I am concerned about the lack of monarchs we have seen in this area. One visited our milkweed 7/13/2023 with the result of finding 7 caterpillars and one larva 7/24 & 7/25. We are at this point raising them and are hopeful for success. The monarch population in this area is frightening. We see none in our travel within a 50-mile radius - in fields, meadows, roadsides or interstate medians-none. We walked a field side 100+ yards and found nothing! Very scary for Monarch population. Had not been sprayed. Farmer fields are organic.
