Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/23/2023

Number: 1

This monarch has been a frequent visitor to our various milkweeds for several weeks now. I assume it is the same butterfly, as I never see more than one at a time. For the first time we have growing simultaneously narrow leaf, showy and rush milkweed, which she dances through daily nectaring and laying eggs. Here she is on one of the rush milkweeds. So far we have only seen one generation of 5 larvae come and go. They ate until fat then one by one moved on...I hope they weren't lizard snacks!
