We have copious milkweed plants in the flower beds around our house. Most years, we get a bunch of butterflies and see double-digit caterpillars for months on end. This year, we haven't seen a single Monarch butterfly and this is the ONLY caterpillar we've spotted.

Very sad and scary. :(
