Here is a photo of either one of our adult females or juveniles nectaring from Dicliptera suberecta, a definite favorite with our hummers. It flowers prolifically in full sun.
Tremendous hummingbird activity here. They are literally zipping and zooming around everywhere. Lots of chasing, playing, and fussing each other out. I would say the 16 is a very conservative number. It's impossible to determine how many we actually have. We have 10 feeders out and an abundance of flowers.
Our 3 resident adult males are staying very busy with all the new juveniles. Hummingbirds are definitely one of the very best parts of summer!
