I grow milkweed and found eggs on the milkweed on 7-28 and more on 7-29-2023. I have also observed two small caterpillars as well as 5 large monarch caterpillars. Three have left the plants and assume made their chrysalis somewhere in the garden area. The remaining two should leave soon as well.

The monarchs have been slower showing up this summer. I would say I didn’t start seeing them until around the first of July. However, we have a place in northern michigan and we’re there in late June. I observed several butterflies at that time.
