This is rare purple milkweed with seed pod. We planted one in our garden three years ago. It has expanded to at least six plants. Last year 5 plants had seed pods. They are all getting ready to rebloom.
We also have common, whorled, swamp and butterflyweed. Currently blooming are swamp and butterflyweed.
