I had 4 wild caterpillars that I took in to finish as chrysalises and those 4 males eclosed on 7-10-23. But - other wild ones appeared in the yard including this dark one (female?) in the photo - either new arrivals or from other caterpillars in our yard. Mating resulted because I found 2 new caterpillars as a result - and currently have 2 new chrysalises on 7-31-23 - grand-kids from that one wild Monarch that visited 6-9-23!
