Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 07/30/2023

Number: 1

Monarch Waystation #271 reports sighting a hummingbird nectaring in the front bed outside the kitchen window @6:23 pm. It flew from the Tithonia's orange blossoms to the red+yellow blooms of tropical milkweed, then to the red blooms of Salvia in the small bed and then it was gone in seconds. A lot less humid today but the 2-3 previous days had high heat and humidity with only brief rain during evening or night, not enough rain for many plants to make lots of nectar. I water as I can but lately it all dries out very quickly. Can't get a good long look at the hummers under these conditions. Many bees and wasps have also nectared here regularly.
