Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/02/2023

Number: 14

These monarchs were found in some of Utah’s most pristine wetland. I only checked a small portion of it. Utah’s water levels are high and there was actually water in places I usually check, but couldn’t get to today. The Joe Pye that was up to our armpits last year is over our heads this year. The native flowers were abundant and beautiful.

There was a male patrolling his area. Most monarchs were fluttering around. This one was nectaring on swamp milkweed.

It rained last night and this afternoon was a cool 79 degrees. Previous temperatures have been close to 100 degrees. Today was beautiful in many ways.
