Wednesday, August 8, my husband and I saw 1 *new* brightly-coloured male monarch butterfly. It was flying above us, alighted on a branch in our crabapple tree, rested a moment opening and closing its wings, then flew away. It was sunny and clear, noon high 27.5 C, next-to-no wind.
