Milkweed Sighted

10 robust and brilliant green common milkweed stalks in a tight cluster growing from the crack between the school wall and driveway pavement. all stalks with seed pods developing. many green bottle (?) flies and several milkweed bugs (probably small milkweed bug, Lygaeus kalmii). we have not been able better to identify the green bottle flies. this clump of milkweed exposed to morning and mid day sun, but completely shaded from afternoon sun. no evidence of monarch butterfly activity on these milkweed stems
