Sightings report image

Date: 08/05/2023

Number: 7

Hummingbird kids were very interactive today, buzzing around my head at 6:20 AM, and playing in groups of 2 and 3 in the tall tree branches and flowers this afternoon.

The nectar plant in this picture is a bulb, lycrosis, aka Lucifer or “hummingbird bait.” 🎈😊

Other floral nectar plants being visited and enjoyed: butterfly bushes, phlox, petunias, nasturtiums, salvia, wild petunias, native cardinal plants, native obedient plants, common milkweeds, Casa Blanca lilies, Indian Pinks,
Foxglove, Dicentria luxuriant, impatients and zinnias.

Getting ready to bloom: native blue lobelia, pink turtle heads, lime light 4 o’clocks.
