Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 08/06/2023

Number: 1

Just released this male Monarch @ 3:15pm today in-between storms - he was frisky & anxious to go! Have one other chrysalis that should eclose tomorrow.

We do NOT usually have Monarch caterpillars until late Summer/Fall, but an old wild female found our milkweed-filled yard in early June - and this is the 2nd round of caterpillars as a result. Additional wild Monarchs also showed up. I bring them in to finish as chrysalises for protection. See my reports from 6-9-23, 7-10-23, 7-12-23, 7-30-23.
