One egg found on a leaf fallen on grass (as found) at lunchtime in full sunlight while counting milkweed stem 188 of 292.
The leaf wasn't completely dried out, so brought it inside and upon magnifying movement appeared inside the egg. Yellow pairs of dots on lower half were swimming as if trying to climb against the shell.
I never reared a monarch before, but immediately watched a couple videos and will try to give this one a chance. Designated m01.
