I rafted the East Fork Carson River just from the south side of Markleeville. Started around noon at Hangman’s Bridge. The river gauge for that day was 11.02 ft. Not certain what cfs that translates to. There were Monarchs along the river in many places. Also there is milkweed along the river in many many locations. Definitely appeared to be Showy Milkweed, Asclepius speciosa. Incredible, we couldn’t believe what we were seeing.
