There are lots of Juveniles - all learning to preen, find the right flowers and learning aerobatics. Sugar water consumption has gone up perhaps to build up fat reserves. We now have 15 feeders outdoors plus 2 in the greenhouse. Most days, daily refill is 2 quarts but on some cloudy/rainy days it is 38oz. Sugar water is a supplement to the 5000 annuals plus a thousand or more native/exotic perennials planted over an acre of our garden.
