this is a three acre field mowed annually usually near end of August as a school playground. field in not yet mowed 2023, but was mowed mid July 2022. from the field margin we estimate minimum of 500 common milkweed stems. we do not enter this private property. neither we nor any neighborhood observers have yet seen an adult monarch here summer 2023.
