Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 08/08/2023

Number: 20

This munchkin is one of our many juveniles. Our photographer friend Paul Nielson caught him hanging out for quite some time preening, stretching, and scratching away. The hummers, as well as all our other birdies, have definitely been appreciating the recent showers. It's molting time, which means lots of itching. It's awesome to sit out on the porch during a good shower, as you can see so many hummingbirds and other birds as well perched, completely focused on bathing and preening. Bath time appears to be a much welcomed happy event.

Tremendous hummingbird activity continues here.
