Some Basil and a Monarch Butterfly

About 1:55 PM, while I was picking some basil, a Monarch Butterfly came by across our yard from the southeast and fluttered about some of the common milkweed by our deck on the south side of our house.  It then headed west over the numerous blooming flowers along the flower bed beside the deck, came back around briefly to the common milkweed, and then flew up over the west end of the deck and disappeared toward our neighbor’s yard to the west.  This lasted no more than a minute.  It never landed during that time.  And I didn’t have a camera handy (who has a camera with them when picking basil???), so no photos.    ☹

At the time, under mostly cloudy skies, the air pressure was 28.43 inches, the air temperature was 77°, the dew point was 57°, the humidity was 50%, and there was a brisk 17 mph breeze blowing from the WNW.
