Observed two monarchs mating in my backyard. A male butterfly that had been making flight displays across the yards found a female that had stopped to nectar on my butterfly bush. After a few minutes on the bush, they flew away still coupled. I believe that this is worth reporting since it is so close to the start of migration in this area.
