Monarch Waystation #271 report a hummingbird nectaring on an orange Tithonia sunflower in the large front bed. Hummer was seen at 1:10 pm during the 2nd day of a high heat advisory day, hovering over the plant just across the patio from the kitchen window. I saw tiny white tail spots on this one, and its throat looked a little dusky; did not see any iridescent areas on throat as it hovered over the flower. The bright orange color of the flower petals was reflected on the hummers' throat in the sunlight. It only stayed about 10 seconds to feed and was off, no chance to grab a camera.
