Feeders were the main attraction all week due to rains. Hummingbirds also spent time between rains among conifers, hunting insects. Juvenile males have begun chasing others from certain plants they prefer (Lobelia cardinalis, Verbena bonariensis, Salvia miniata, Agastache Coronado) We have 15 main feeders, but hung a mini feeder next to every main feeder 3 days ago so that male juveniles can learn to defend their own feeders.
