There may be 12+ adult male ruby throated hummingbirds in total. We requested volunteers to click photos for 10 minutes at every feeder. All 15 feeders in the were visited by adult males in those 10 minutes. But a conservative number would be 12 because 3 of the feeders are only 20ft from each other. Since hummingbirds tend to feed every 15 to 20 minutes we reduced the possibility of counting repeat visitors. Also counted as one bird per feeder even if there were multiple visits of adult males to a single feeder in 10 minutes. This explains we refill 2 quarts of sugar water daily.
