Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 08/18/2023

Number: 1

Taken today, Friday, Aug 18th @ 2:34 pm.

First spotted him at the Turks Cap flowers (in the background), then he flew to this feeder.

I think the temp started out around 85 this morning and right now at 2:30 pm it's sunny and 108 degrees.

There is a little feeder sitting down in the glass dish. I keep cold water in the glass dish to help keep the sugar water cool. I will go out often refresh the dish with fresh cool water to keep the sugar water nice and cool. The hummers that have been here a good while love this little feeder. And the hummers that returned from prior years love the feeder. Now new comers may not realize that glass dish holds a little feeder right away. I think most hummers look for the usual glass bottle shape feeders as they are flying through, just my guess.

I have Tall Mexican Petunias, Turks Cap, hanging basket with red Petunias, Red Pentas and Garden Phlox in my back yard.
