Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/15/2023

Number: 2

I have had two monarch butterflies in my yard all week (8/15-8/21 ). I have a large pollinator garden and they are very attracted to the blazing star liatris. They spend most of the day flittering about and are often seen swirling together in the air when not feeding on the liatris. One is darker orange than the other but both are large so I believe they are both adults. Unfortunately, my daughter said today she thinks one has a torn wing so I will check that out tomorrow. I really hope that’s not the case.
