A huge female and a male feeding on Northern Blazing Star and Mexican Sunflowers. I saw her land on the Rose Milkweed. The male was chasing the female and they were spinning around in the air. In the last week I have seen at least 4 monarchs every day in both my garden and the school garden - it started mid August.
This is the only time I have seen multiple Monarchs here in my part of SE Kansas.
Did not see them in the Spring. The green milkweed was everywhere this year. Saw Mike’s and mikes of it on the banks of the road from our area to Wichita. And it was in the hay fields every where.
