Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 08/23/2023

Number: 25

64 degrees, overcast and raining. “The Boys” are still here, enjoying the chaos they like to create:)

Most of our feeders have small branches nearby for perching, preening, observing.

Many of the hummers prefer to perch at the very top of the little branches. And there are often, other hummingbirds on the lower portions of the branch.

Floral hummingbird banquets surround the areas and are extensively enjoyed: butterfly bushes, nasturtiums, cosmos, zinnias, impatients, wild impatiences, jewel weeds, swamp milkweed, blue lobelias, cardinal flowers, foxgloves, dicentria luxuriant, obedient plants, , fire weed, and salvias, native delphiniums. Pink turtleheads are beginning to bloom.
