Sightings report image

Date: 08/23/2023

Number: 1

At last! First female sighted this year. Saw her lay an egg on common milkweed. (3rd generation..not migrating?) Usually at this time of year we have seen many hatching on our milkweed. We've had no larvae this year. Tropical milkweed was a failure ( bad seed I think). Common milkweed has lots of black blotch. Yes, I'll cut what few tropical plants we have when I'm certain there are no larvae. Years past we have gotten 10 times larvae off tropical plants for every one on tuberosa, swamp or common milkweed.
