Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 08/23/2023

Number: 48

Feeder fights have reduced since adults are in various stages of molting and do not want to test their worn out/missing feathers. Juveniles are dominating the scene. Sugar water consumption had gone down a bit for 3-4 days but now has increased. Guessing preparation for migration has begun. There are new fledglings from the second clutch that are unable to hover, so resting while nectaring. There are 22 feeding stations spread over an acre of flowers - each station has 2 feeders. Hopefully, the future migrants won't have to battle.
