Hummingbirds are lucky to be able to sit on flower stalks gleaning insects. Many rest on unexpected places - dead twigs, wire loops, security cameras (along with a Monarch butterfly), mesh fence. Some rest on a tall perennial that has bent over and is almost touching water in the Lotus Pond.
