I have common milkweed plants growing throughout my perennial garden along with coneflower, asters, rose bushes and many several other plants. I live in a residential neighborhood so I cut the seed pods off each year before they open so they don’t spread to neighboring yards where they are not wanted. So far I have had several monarchs in the garden every year, but have never seen caterpillars on my plants.
